Spiritual Growth & Faith Formation
Children & Youth
Children of all ages are welcome into full participation during worship, including a special "children's time" with the youth Pastor. Nursery care is available during worship for children up to age three.
Sunday's Cool: Each Sunday morning, children ages three through thirteen are invited to participate in our Sunday's Cool program.
Nursery Care: Children of all ages are always welcome to stay with Family throughout worship, in the sanctuary or the vestry area off to the side of the sanctuary where kids can stretch out a bit with their parents. There is also nursery care available for children up to three years old during worship.
Students in 7th, 8th and 9th grade (and sometimes older) meet Wednesday evenings, October through May, to learn about the Christian faith, provide opportunities for youth to connect with this faith community and our interfaith friends. Confirmation students are encouraged to question and discern what matters to them as they grow spiritually and as human beings.
Adult Forum: Sunday mornings adults meet for a conversation centered on topics of faith and social concern. We listen to the "still speaking God" in scripture, the arts, political struggles, the sciences and to the stories in our lives and the lives of other people. Participation is open and flexible.
Film Festival: We offer film screenings in the Fellowship Hall which correlate to specific conversations going on in the world, or our community specifically. In the recent past we have watched and discussed For the Bible Tells Me So; Out in the Silence; The Visitor; Lars and the Real Girl; Wade in the Water, Children; Chasing Ice; Inequality for All; Salaam Neighbor; and Bully. Many of these films are now available to borrow from our church library.
We seek to nurture interfaith undestanding, reduce prejudice and misunderstanding, and act together on common values to transform our world.
We organize interfaith, intergenerational events that are open to the entire congregation. We have an on-going relationship with the leaders and congregations from the local Synagogue, Hindu Temple and Islamic Center.
